Leigh, remembering her father Paul
Leigh: Artist Statement
I chose low key colors because my dad didn’t like too much attention, even though he was in a band. He played guitar and that’s his guitar pick. When he died and we cleaned out his house, we found hundreds of picks. The lyrics are from the Bob Dylan song, “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door’.” The song lyrics are the best way to remember him. He played this song at a friend’s burial, and I heard it on the way to make this piece.
