Stephanie: Artists Statement
A lot of people say that heroin is like chasing the dragon. It’s like having a chain on your soul. And the dragon is a soul snatcher. A lot of people don’t have the empathy to know that when you are talking to someone on drugs, you are talking to the drugs, not the real person. The candle symbolizes pain. It burns. With addiction, you are trying to escape. Sometimes you escape through death.
